About Sanya
Sanya Simmons (she/her) is an Atlanta based Black Latina American woman, and while she doesn’t speak Spanish, she is deeply rooted in her Afro-Cuban heritage. Sanya is an Odyssey Award winning audiobook narrator and a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, NAVA, APA, and PANA.
Sanya’s down-to-earth style adds authenticity and depth to a wide range of texts. Teacher, mom, girlfriend, sister, BFF, CEO. She’s all that and more! Sanya loves what she calls “intelligent humor” and can deliver an understated punchline trusting that the humor is in the text. No matter what genre, Sanya’s humanity can be heard in every read.
Sanya’s alto voice is unpolished, sometimes quirky, warm, genuine, textured, and credible. She enjoys Romance (Contemporary, Romantic Comedy, Sports, Romantic Suspense), Cozy Mystery, Mystery/Thriller, and Legal Thriller genres. Non-fiction topics that are sure to catch Sanya’s interest are African American History, Social Justice, Music, Musician Biography, Inclusivity, LGBTQTSI+, and Mental Health.
Sanya Simmons is also a musician (classical flute and voice) and the author of A Single Mom’s Guide to Raising Black (Gentle)Men. (Click the Author tab to find out more.)
She records in her professional Home Studio. Sanya looks forward to the opportunity to bring your story to life!
